In this stylish thriller Ricardo Darín excels as an Argentine President who realises there is no such thing as a personal life in the cut throat political arena. President Hernán Blanco is attending a key summit in Chile to discuss a new Southern Oil Alliance that could have lasting consequences for power relations in Latin America. As Blanco and his backstage team try to deal with differing political agendas, an escalating personal crisis threatens to derail the diplomatic discourse, with grave consequences for all. The top-notch cast includes Dolores Fonzi, Paulina García and Erica Rivas.
And the screenplay, by director Santiago Mitre and Mariano Llinás, proves as unsettling as it is enjoyable, delivering an intriguing rollercoaster ride that regards politics as a business where you’re never quite sure who or what it is you’re dealing with.
