Nowadays, distant cousins inherit an abandoned house in Normandy. Among them are Seb, Abdelkrim, Céline, and Guy. They gather to look around and assess what they can keep from the inheritance—not only materially, but also emotionally. In 1895, Adèle, their predecessor, leaves her native Normandy and heads to Paris to search for her mother, lost in a sea of new opportunities. This is how Adèle will encounter impressionism, revolutionary changes in art and photography in a city that is rediscovering itself.

By adding an artistic touch to the family story, the film manages to create a sense of the transience of time and build a bridge between what has been and what still lives on.
