Martha and George are a married couple whose relationship is built on sarcasm, alcohol and deep disappointment. They invite a young family over for dinner, but the evening turns into a destructive game of truths, manipulations and painful revelations.

In perhaps the most daring and transformative performance of her career, Elizabeth Taylor demonstrates raw emotion, rage, vulnerability and cynical humour instead of glamour. Her chemistry with Richard Burton (her real-life husband) makes the conflict almost painfully real.
