Young Rosa is married to a local landowner who abuses her. During a meeting between American cowboys and Italian shepherds, she falls in love with the local horseman Santino. After a tragic accident, Rosa and Santino flee together, pursued by Buffalo Bill, who tries to control the situation.

The film is inspired by real events and presents an alternative version of the legend of Buffalo Bill, who visited Italy with his show in the early 20th century, while rethinking the genre and placing women at the center of the narrative.
