Wes Anderson's new film is a stylish and multi-layered mix of espionage, family drama, and ironic allegory about power and morality. At the center of the story is Anatole Zsa-zsaKorda, an eccentric industrialist and aircraft designer who survives a plane crash and returns to his family, determined to pass on his legacy to his estranged daughterLiesl, who has devoted herself to a monastic life. Korda plans a grandiose infrastructure project in the fictional country of Phoenicia, a symbol of human ambition and technological progress. But the "Phoenician scheme" turns out to be not only an economic venture, but also a moral experiment.

Anderson once again demonstrates his inimitable visual style – symmetry, saturated colors, retro details, and carefully directed frame geometry. Themes of inheritance, family, and the meaning of success are intertwined with his typical humor and melancholy.
